What is custom portrait photography?
Custom portrait photography is all about creating photographic artworks as opposed to regular portrait photography. There is no doubt that your decision to book is a financial investment in your family’s memories. I shoot using only the sun as my light source, creating natural and timeless images and my approach is very relaxed and fun. Booking a custom portrait session with me also provides you with the opportunity to be a little more creative than usual. You have chosen to book a Custom Portrait Photographer because you are looking for something unique. I only take on 2-4 clients per month therefore you are guaranteed a truly personalised experience.
What does my Booking Fee cover?
Your booking fee covers all pre and post session consultations as well as your on location portrait session and editing of your images. There are no discs or prints included unless specified or in conjunction with a special or promotion. It is non-refundable however it is transferable (please see T&C).
How many images will I see?
I believe in quality over quantity, therefore your gallery will only display the stand out ‘WOW’ images from your session and those that tell your child’s story. The Custom Portrait experience is different to any other due to the fact that each image provided is of a high artistic standard. I aim to provide you with at least 20 beautiful images from your session from which to select from.
Do you sell packages?

Do you sell Discs?
Yes, a Digital Packages are available for purchase. Please request a full pricing sheet for further information.
How much do I have to spend?
There is no minimum spend required. Your guarantee from myself is that there is no obligation to buy if you are unhappy in any way with the images I have produced for you. It’s important to note that your images remain property of Chrissy Torney | Photographer should you choose not to purchase any products. You are free to work within your own budget. Some clients will save for a once off Custom Portrait experience therefore have a large budget to work with, whilst others prefer to continually update their portrait collection on a smaller budget. My clients usually spend between $1000 and $3000 on their Custom Portrait collection.
Do you shoot families as well as children?
Whilst my signature work is based on Children’s Storytelling Portraits, I always make time in any session to include Parents and any ideas they may have. I do not however, shoot posed shots, preferring to focus more on family interactions and connections. I like to keep things candid.
How does it all work?
Step 1: Initial contact, phone/email enquiry.
Step 2: Date confirmed – Terms and Conditions viewed, signed and returned – Booking Fee Paid.
Step 3: Phone or email pre-session consult.
Step 4: Custom Portrait session.
Step 5: Your gallery is loaded within 2 weeks from your session and remains online for ONE week.
Step 6: Prints and Products are ordered once payment has been confirmed.
Step 7: Your session is blogged @ www.chrissytorney.com.au for friends and family to see.
Step 8: Products arrive within 4-6 weeks of order being placed.
